About Russell Allen
Russell Allen has spent more than half his life teaching mathematics and statistics at the university level, but don’t hold that against him. In recent years, he’s turned his attention to memoir and creative writing, blending his love of story with a lifelong fascination with patterns, paradoxes, and the passage of time.
Now finishing his MFA in Writing Popular Fiction, Russell is uniquely poised to champion both the science and the fiction in science fiction. His stories explore big ideas through small, human moments, always grounded in hope, wonder, and emotional truth. Call it hopepunk. Call it cozy sci-fi. Either way, expect thoughtful futures, strong connections, and the occasional time-bending surprise.
He lives in North Carolina, where he writes, teaches, and happily supports the dreams of the next generation, including his own daughter, a screenwriter. If you ever want to talk about infinity, time travel, or what makes a good story tick, he’s your guy.
